There are Many reasons to hold an elected office. The question, after your first 2 years of holding office is: Are you here to help, or to make a name for your self so that you can gain an elected office that is higher up the food chain?
We all know of people that said one thing to get elected, then did whatever they wanted no matter if the US Constitution was violated or not. so the question is this: in the past 2 years how did you, in the office that you hold, help the people that voted for you so that you can hold the office that you do?
Have you helped cut red tape for building houses. Made public transportation more affordable, safer, more efficient, dependable? Have the decisions that you have made put more food on more peoples plates, a better roof over their head, a safer community to live in? If the answer to these questions is no – then just what are you doing? There is a tenant of Political Science that states something on the order of “if you are not helping YOU are the problem.
Raising taxes and fees, prevents people from better housing, better food, better transportation, living in a better neighborhood, a better quality of life. Ask the question: If taxes and fees were less could people better afford the things that they need? Because, quite frankly, if taxes and fees were not as high as they are, then governments would not have to create programs to give it back.
