Down The Sewer Pipe – Politically Speaking

After you have been in office a year it is a good idea to take a backward look at what you have been able to accomplish since taking office. Some ideas will be degraded by others, other ideas will be embraced. The goal of looking back is two fold:

1. Have you been able to do what you said you would do when you were running or office?
2. Did you miss opportunities to put forward ideas that would have made your community a better place to live.

Based on your 12 month past performance:

1. Be happy with getting 50% of what you want.
2. Learn to fight the battles you can win.
3. Determine if the laws on the books that have been enacted are actually used. No need to have outdated laws that aren’t enforceable.
