In all legislative processes, Homeowners Associations, City, County, State, and Federal governments to name a few. There are always things that didn’t get completed. How will you address the legislation that is just waiting to become law?
This is always an issue of sorts because some legislation is incomplete or should not have been created in the first place. Some things to consider:
- Does the legislation effect everyone equaly, or just a few?
- Does the legislation make good use of resources?
- Does the legislation impace some people more than others?
- Does the legislation meet the test of being constututionaL?
- Will you obey this legislation, or is this legislation for everyone BUT you?
- Will this legislation be needed ten years from now, or is this just a quick fix or a small problem?
If the legislation is just for a short-term issue, then perhaps another “fix” is needed. If the legislation sequesters a dis-appropriate number of resources for a small amount of people, then perhaps a community effort to change the situation is needed.
Keep in mind that creating rules, laws and regulations is not always a long-term fix for complex or simple issues that a change of direction or attitude of any given issue or problem to correct.
